I am Mario Cornejo, a community leader, entrepreneur, homeowner, taxpayer, and candidate for Councilman of the 3rd Ward in Roselle, New Jersey.
For over 20 years, Roselle has been home. My commitment has always been to serve, connect, and contribute to the growth of our community through action, collaboration, and opportunity.

Mario Cornejo has been officially endorsed by the Roselle Democratic Committee following a formal internal election process. As part of this process, candidates were carefully evaluated based on their experience, record of service, and vision for the future of Roselle, which they presented to the committee.
Experience in Education, Community, and Leadership
I have had the privilege of serving as President of the PTO, where I worked to strengthen the connection between parents, teachers, and school leadership to better support our students and families.
Through this role, I collaborated with senior volunteers, recognizing their value and creating opportunities for them to remain active, engaged, and connected to our community. I have also consistently advocated for resources and initiatives that support both education and meaningful community involvement.
Seeing Roselle Through Community and Communication
Through my lens as a communicator, I have seen the true potential of Roselle. Through communication, I have worked to highlight our sports, culture, art, traditions, and local events—showcasing the beauty and identity that define our borough and bringing visibility to the people and stories that make Roselle unique.
Bridging Local Community Work with Global Experience
I’ve been blessed to travel around the world—teaching, learning, sharing experiences, and learning from the success of others while mentoring the next generation. Yet no matter where I go, Roselle is always home—the place where my dreams became a reality and the community that has shaped my life.
Understanding the Real Challenges Residents Face
As a homeowner and taxpayer, I understand the concerns many residents are facing—rising taxes without always seeing a clear return in services or expanded opportunities for our children.
As a business owner, I also recognize the untapped opportunities our town has to grow, attract investment, and better serve our residents.
